     Game Day Sports
 
       WESPY Awards Criteria

  • All nominated athletes and coaches must be at least fifteen (15) years of age or older as of January 1, 2007.

  • Athletes and coaches must be nominated by someone other than themselves. 

  • Eligible athletes must be affiliated with or play an entire season or schedule with a team based in Windsor or Essex County.

  • Eligible athletes must be affiliated with or play an entire season or schedule with a team based in a league with a governing body.

       Major Awards

  •  The major awards will be presented to the top female and male athletes of the year.    

  •  An award for the top coach of the year along with the top team will also be presented. 

  •  The major awards are open to all athletes and teams in Windsor and Essex County. 

  •  All nominated athletes and coaches must be at least fifteen (15) years of age or older as     of  January 1, 2007.

       Legacy Award Criteria

  • Nominees must have a minimum of five (5) years of service in Windsor or Essex County.

  • Nominees will have made a significant contribution to sports in the Windsor or Essex County area. This includes the categories of athletes, coaches or administrators.

  • Two (2) nominations must be submitted in writing by someone other than themselves.

       Volunteer of the Year Criteria

  • Minimum of five (5) years of service in Windsor or Essex County.

  • Must be a member with a local or area organization with a governing body.

  • Must be a resident of Windsor or Essex County.

  • Must be in a non-coaching or non-managerial position.

  • Eligible recipients can be from the past or present.

  • One recipient per year.

       ***The deadline for nominations will be September 1, 2008***

 

                        

Thanks to your generosity a portion of the proceeds from the WESPY's will be donated to the Hospice Fund and also to the Windsor/Essex County Sports Foundation
